What we take moss off

The roof comes first for most customers, since that is where moss costs a house the most. From there the list works downward: a treatment to slow regrowth, a wash for algae streaks, then the concrete, pavers and window frames that sit in the same shade.

Roof Moss Removal

Roof moss goes through four stages, from a faint film to a mat that lifts the shingles. We lift it off by hand at every stage, and high pressure never touches the roof.

  • Asphalt shingle roof moss removal
  • Cedar shake roof moss removal
  • Concrete tile and metal roof moss removal
  • Commercial and strata roof moss removal

Roof Cleaning

A roof can be striped, filmed and crusted all at once. We sort out which marks are growth, wash those off at low pressure, and tell you about the ones a wash cannot fix.

  • Black algae stripe removal
  • Green film wash-down on shaded slopes
  • Lichen treatment on shingle, shake and tile
  • Needle, cone and leaf litter cleared before washing

Roof Demossing

A roof is not one surface. Ridges, valleys, vents and the lowest courses each need different handling, and this page goes through them in the order we work them.

  • Ridge caps and hip lines cleared along the full length
  • Open slopes worked downhill, north faces given the most time
  • Valleys emptied of packed moss, needles and maple keys
  • Moss lifted from around chimneys, skylights, vent boots and solar arrays

Moss Treatment & Prevention

Moss on this coast keeps a calendar. We plan treatment, zinc strips, branch advice and short checks around it, and show you what to watch for from the lawn.

  • Moss treatment applied in the dry months
  • Zinc strips fitted along the ridge
  • Shade and branch walk-around
  • Late-fall debris sweep of valleys and roof edges

Driveway & Sidewalk Moss Removal

We clear moss and algae from the paving you use every day: driveway apron, front walk, entry steps, side paths and patio, with a soft wash first on every surface.

  • Driveway and garage apron moss and algae clearing
  • Front walk and garden path cleaning
  • Entry steps, landings and stair nosings
  • Side paths to bins, sheds and woodsheds

Window Moss Removal

Rain runs down a window from the trim above it to the drain slots below, and moss settles wherever that water slows. We clear each stop on the way, by hand.

  • Drip caps and head trim picked clear above each window
  • Glazing bead lines brushed out along the glass edge
  • Sliding window and patio door tracks emptied
  • Weep slots opened from outside and pour-tested

Every roof is cleared with hand tools. When something needs washing, a low-pressure soft wash is our standard, with higher pressure kept for tasks that call for it, such as concrete driveways and walkways, and never on asphalt shingles or cedar shakes.
